John McCain went to Washington yesterday to help solve the country's current financial crisis. What did he do instead? Basically nothing. By all accounts, he didn't state support for any plan or position, even when asked by members of both parties point blank.

Note to Mr. McCain: you sure as heck can't show leadership if you won't even speak up. If this is the kind of help you came to offer Washington, you may as well go back to Arizona and chat up your buddy Phil Gramm about the good ol' days.
